Tom Swindell - BSc (Hons), MCSP
Tom qualified from Cardiff University in 2016 and gained a varied experience in the NHS, ranging from neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation to treatment of medical and respiratory conditions in both England and Wales.
He is currently in the final stages of completing a qualification in sports massage and aiming to gain further qualifications in strength and conditioning, cognitive behavioural therapy and pain management.
Aside from working at LMC, Tom works full-time as a senior physiotherapist in the trauma and orthopaedics department at the Hospital of St. Cross in Rugby; working alongside surgeons and clinical specialists to manage patients undergoing complex surgeries, some of which are rarely performed elsewhere in the UK.
Outside work he is interested in sports and exercise. He is a keen gym goer and has recently starting boxing, he has played rugby most his life not only in England and Wales but played and coached in India too. Tom has personal experience of injuries and understands how daunting pain and the rehabilitation process can be.
With this in mind, he believes everyone, whether a sportsperson or member of the general public, deserves the right to pain-free peak performance throughout life, and that process can be positive, fun and enjoyable.
His overall approach is built on getting to know his clients as the individual they are to create a tailored treatment plan to suit them, helping increase confidence and self-management with education along the way. He is more than happy to go above and beyond what is required of him to help you reach your goals.
His particular clinical interests include post-orthopaedic rehabilitation and the assessment and treatment of shoulder and lower back pain.
Tom is registered with the Health Care Professions council (HCPC) (PH110889) and is a Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) (108214).
