What is physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy (also referred to as musculoskeletal physiotherapy or MSK) is a science-based practice that helps to restore normal movement and function of muscles, joints and other soft tissue structures after injury.
After a comprehensive assessment, we will provide you with information about the diagnosis and injury, as well as explain the proposed treatment plan and expected recovery time. It is important that you understand the injury and leave your appointment feeling more knowledgeable and empowered to manage your injury.
We follow a holistic approach throughout assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice, using evidence-based and modern techniques. For example, manual (hands-on) therapy including manipulation, mobilisations and soft tissue massage. We also offer acupuncture and taping if this is appropriate for your condition. Exercise and strengthening is a key factor in recovery from most injuries, so once your pain is under control we will begin progressing you through an individualised and tailored exercise program.
No two people or injuries are the same and we will make sure that the assessment and treatment we provide is specific to your needs and your goals.
