Our Story

Hi, I’m Laura, the founder of LMC Physio & Fitness.

Before starting LMC, I spent ten years working in the NHS and progressed into an Advanced Practitioner role. That experience shaped me as a physiotherapist and gave me a strong understanding of the difference that high-quality rehabilitation can make to someone’s life.

But over time, I also became increasingly frustrated by the limitations of the system.

I could see how time pressures affected patient care, how little opportunity there was for preventative support and how difficult it could be for physiotherapists to keep developing and delivering the standard of care they wanted to provide.

I wanted to create something different.

LMC Physio & Fitness was born from a belief that people deserve to feel listened to, understood and supported—not simply treated as a diagnosis.

I wanted to build a clinic where care was personal, where meaningful goals guided treatment and where people could be supported not only to recover, but also to become stronger, more confident and better able to stay active for the future.

Why LMC Physio & Fitness was born

LMC Physio & Fitness was created from a belief that people deserve a better and more personal experience when they seek help for pain or injury.

I wanted to build a clinic where clinicians had the time to listen, where patients felt genuinely cared for and where treatment was shaped around the individual rather than simply their diagnosis.

For me, physiotherapy has never been only about treating pain or improving a clinical measurement. It is about understanding the person, what their problem is preventing them from doing and what a successful recovery would mean in their life.

That might mean sleeping comfortably, returning to work, walking the dog, playing with their children or grandchildren, getting back to the gym or taking part in the sport they love.

Whatever the goal, it should sit at the centre of their care.

I also wanted LMC to be a place where physiotherapists and other members of the team could continue learning, develop their careers, contribute ideas and feel proud of the care they provided.

The aim was not simply to open another physiotherapy clinic. It was to create a service that connected treatment, rehabilitation and preventative health—supporting people not only to recover, but to become stronger, more confident and better equipped to remain active in the future.

Those beliefs became the foundation of LMC Physio & Fitness and continue to shape the clinic we are building today.

Meet Our Physiotherapy Team in Rugby

From one physiotherapist to the clinic we are today

LMC began in Rugby with me working as a solo practitioner.

As the clinic grew, I gradually built a team of clinical and administrative staff who shared my commitment to providing excellent, personal care.

We moved to The Green before eventually taking on our current premises at Allerton Road. Transforming the building into the clinic and fitness studio we have today was a significant project, but it allowed us to create a space designed around the experience we wanted our patients and members to have.

Over eight years, LMC has grown from one physiotherapist into a multidisciplinary team providing physiotherapy, rehabilitation, sports massage, Pilates, running services and small-group fitness.

Each stage of that growth has been guided by the same questions:

How can we provide a better experience for our patients?

How can we support people beyond short-term pain relief?

How can we help our team continue learning and delivering the highest standards of care?

We are incredibly proud of how far LMC has come, but our story is still being written.

As we continue to grow, our focus remains on improving the experience we provide and ensuring that every patient receives thoughtful, individual and consistently high-quality care
