Can Physiotherapy Help Me?
Whether pain is affecting your work, sleep, exercise or everyday life, our team can help you understand the problem and create a clear plan to move forward.
Physiotherapy can help to reduce pain, restore movement and strength, and support you in returning to the activities that matter to you.
Musculoskeletal physiotherapy focuses on problems affecting the muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, nerves and other soft tissues. Our team regularly helps people experiencing:
- Back and neck pain
- Knee, hip and shoulder pain
- Sports and running injuries
- Tendon problems
- Muscle and joint injuries
- Post-operative weakness
- Ongoing pain or reduced mobility
You do not need to know exactly what is causing your symptoms before booking and you do not need to have seen a doctor or had a scan. Your initial appointment is designed to help identify the problem, explain what may be contributing to it and establish the best way forward.
At LMC Physio & Fitness, we do more than simply treat the area that hurts. We take the time to understand your individual story, assess the factors influencing your symptoms and create a structured treatment plan centred around your goals.
Our Physiotherapists are degree-qualified, with several members of the team also holding postgraduate and master’s-level qualifications.
Why choose LMC Physio & Fitness?
We know how frustrating it can be when pain stops you doing the things you enjoy or begins to affect your work, sleep and confidence.
At LMC Physio & Fitness, we genuinely care about helping you move forward. We will listen to what has been happening, understand what matters to you and work alongside you towards a goal that feels meaningful.
That might mean walking without worrying about pain, getting back to playing with your children, feeling stronger in the gym or returning to the sport you love. Whatever your goal, it becomes the focus of your treatment.
You will never be treated as just another injury or diagnosis. We combine a thorough assessment, experienced clinical care and modern rehabilitation technology with the encouragement and support you need throughout your recovery.
We will explain things clearly, celebrate your progress and adapt your plan when needed. Most importantly, we will help you feel confident in your body again and give you the tools to keep moving well beyond your final appointment.
The LMC Way - Our Approach to Treatment
Step one: Understanding you and your goals
Your first appointment begins with a detailed conversation about your symptoms, health, lifestyle and the activities that are important to you.
We will ask when your problem started, how it has changed and which movements or activities make it feel better or worse. We will also discuss your medical history, any relevant medication, previous injuries and treatments you may already have tried.
Most importantly, we will discuss what you want to achieve.
Your goal might be to sleep comfortably, manage a working day without pain, return to the gym, play with your children or prepare for a sporting event. Your personal goal becomes the focus of your treatment plan, so each stage of your rehabilitation is relevant and meaningful to you.
We bring this information together in your individual patient storyboard. This creates a clear picture of:
- Where you are now
- Where you want to get to
- What may be preventing you from reaching your goal
- The steps needed to help you move forward
This storyboard guides your assessment, treatment and rehabilitation throughout your time with us.

Step two: A thorough and objective assessment
Your Physiotherapist will complete an assessment tailored to your symptoms, activities and individual goals.
This may include assessing:
- Movement and mobility
- Muscle strength and control
- Balance and stability
- Functional movements relevant to your work, daily life or sport
- Joint, nerve and soft tissue function
- Relevant clinical and orthopaedic tests

Objective strength testing with VALD DynaMo
Where strength is relevant to your condition, we can use VALD DynaMo technology to measure it accurately.
Rather than relying only on observation or manual muscle testing, VALD DynaMo allows us to collect objective strength data. This can help us:
- Identify differences between sides
- Highlight specific areas of weakness
- Establish an accurate starting point
- Set meaningful rehabilitation targets
- Measure changes as your treatment progresses
Objective testing can be particularly valuable following injury or surgery, during rehabilitation for a sporting injury, or when deciding whether you are ready to return to running, training or competition.
Not every patient will require technology-based testing. We will use it when the results will provide useful information and improve the quality of your treatment plan.
Step three: Your diagnosis and treatment plan
Once your assessment is complete, we will explain our findings clearly and without unnecessary medical jargon.
We will discuss:
- What we believe is causing or contributing to your symptoms
- Which findings from your assessment are most important
- What needs to improve
- The treatment options available to you
- The likely stages of your recovery
- When you should expect to notice progress
- Whether further investigation or referral is recommended
You will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout your appointment. Our aim is for you to leave with a clearer understanding of your problem and confidence in what happens next.
Together, we will create a structured treatment plan based on your assessment findings, goals and preferences.
Your treatment may include:
- Hands-on treatment or manual therapy
- Soft tissue techniques and sports massage
- Progressive exercise rehabilitation
- Strength and conditioning
- Acupuncture
- Pilates-based rehabilitation
- Movement, gait or running analysis
- Advice about activity, training and symptom management

Treatment is never a one-size-fits-all process. The treatment you receive will depend on your condition, what we find during your assessment and what is most likely to help you achieve your goal.
Step four: Treatment, rehabilitation and progress reviews
Your rehabilitation will continue beyond the treatment room.
When exercises are recommended, you will receive a personalised programme through Physitrack, our exercise prescription software.
Your programme can be accessed from your phone, tablet or computer and includes clear video demonstrations and instructions. It allows us to select exercises at the right level for you, adjust them as you progress and help you remain consistent between appointments.
We will make sure you understand:
- Why each exercise has been selected
- How to perform it correctly
- How often it should be completed
- How it relates to your symptoms and goals
- When and how it will be progressed
Your treatment plan will be regularly reviewed rather than simply repeated at each appointment.
We will reassess the movements, strength measures and activities that were important during your initial assessment. Where appropriate, we may repeat VALD DynaMo testing to provide objective evidence of improvement.
As you progress, your treatment and exercise programme will be adapted to keep you moving towards your goal.
Our structured approach continually considers three important questions:
- Where are you now?
- Where do you want to get to?
- What needs to happen to help you get there?
If we believe you would benefit from further investigation or another professional opinion, we can communicate with your GP, consultant or another healthcare professional with your consent.
